Weddings

Congratulations! We are delighted that you want to get married and that you are looking at having your wedding with us as at St Margaret’s.
You do have to have some connection with the church for us to be able to take your wedding. This might be because you live in our area (what we call our ‘parish) or it might be because you have a close connection with the church, for example you or your parents have lived in the parish at some point, or your parents or grandparents were married here. If none of these apply to you then you can still get married here by worshipping with us regularly for at least six months. This is the same whatever your beliefs and whether you come regularly to church regularly or you have never been in one before.
If you have been married before (and your previous partner is still living) then we will need to talk this through with you first, though please don’t let this stop you from getting in touch with us.
Regretfully we are not allowed to take marriage ceremonies for same-sex couples in the Church of England.
If you would like to find out more about getting married in St Margaret’s please complete the form. You can find out if you live in our parish by clicking on this link and looking at the shaded area in the map.
